Register on NLOD

The National Learning Opportunities Database (NLOD) holds your course information and allows you to reach a wide range of learners.

Course information held in the NLOD is used for all course searches across Skills Development Scotland's (SDS's) websites.

When learners or employers call SDS helplines or speak to advisors in our centres, information on the NLOD is used to advise them.

NLOD course listings also feed through to our partners' sites such as the Sector Skills Councils.

There are a number of benefits to learning providers:

  • Free marketing of your course information
  • Access to PROMT - free software which allows you to update your course information and have control over how it is presented to learners through our websites
  • Save time - update your course information in one place to reach out to a wide range of learners, trainees and employers looking for staff training
  • Support from your own allocated Information Specialist who will help you with all aspects of uploading your course information.

If you offer a large number of courses use the bulk import facility to upload courses to NLOD.

Are you an NTP provider?

If you are an NTP provider, you are contractually obliged to register on the NLOD and list all NTP provision (including Modern Apprenticeships and Employability Fund courses).

Do you deliver courses to 16-19s?

The 16-19 Learning Choices course search to help young people move on to positive destinations after school uses NLOD course information. It can be accessed via the Course Choices tool on My World of Work.
