Summer school leavers and young job seekers from North and East Fife are being invited to take part in a 'Move on Up' event which will give them an insight into the range of opportunities available to them in employment, training and learning.

'Move on Up' will take place on Friday 9 March 2012 from 10.00am until 12 noon in the main hall at Waid Academy, St Andrews Road, Anstruther.

Skills Development Scotland, Fife training providers, local colleges, Jobcentre Plus, the voluntary sector and other local providers have joined forces to organise an interactive, participative event which will allow young people to consider issues which are central to the world of work.

Janice Carlyle, Skills Development Scotland team leader, said:

"'Move on Up' is a unique opportunity for young job seekers to meet with local training providers, local colleges and other organisations all under the one roof. Young people will be able to take part in fun activities, while finding out essential information about career opportunities to suit them."

Each young person who comes along to the event will be offered follow-up support by a Skills Development Scotland adviser to help them progress their career plans. Readers can also access our service online at www.myworldofwork.co.uk
