21 May 2014

  • Case studies
  • Information sharing

The purpose of this group is to ensure that colleagues across the sector and SDS understand and articulate how information sharing can support learner journeys and in turn meet the needs of both young people and employers.

The group will also identify areas for continuous improvement in service delivery and test and review new collaborative approaches.

Membership of the group includes the Scottish Government, Scottish Funding Council, Education Scotland, College Development Network, Colleges Scotland, Skills Development Scotland and colleges themselves.

Shona Struthers

Shona Struthers, from Colleges Scotland and Chair of the group said, "Information sharing presents many opportunities for the college sector and its partners.  We are working together to make sure we fully understand these opportunities and suggest the most effective way to realise the benefits for students, employers, partners and the colleges themselves. Given that information sharing is now mandatory this work is ever more important. I look forward to working with the group to fully realise the benefits for all concerned.

The Group will deliver its findings and recommendations over the summer.  Details will be made available in due course.
