Equality and diversity

Skills Development Scotland is fully committed to promoting equality and diversity both as an employer and in the services provided.

SDS works to ensure that services and products are available to everyone regardless of:

  • Age
  • Gender
  • Disability
  • Gender reassignment
  • Race
  • Pregnancy / maternity
  • Sexual orientation
  • Religion or belief.

Our Equality and Diversity Mainstreaming Report 2015-2017 provides an update on progress against our three Equality Outcomes published in our 2013 report. It also reaffirms our ambition to ensure equality of opportunity for all of our customers and our staff. The legislation also requires SDS to complete and publish Equality Impact Assessments for relevant policies and services

The SDS Equality Advisory Group involves key stakeholders who provide the organisation with expert advice and support to ensure SDS is able to consider the needs of all customers when developing and delivering services.
