Skills for Health

Skills for Health covers the whole health sector (NHS, independent and voluntary employers). 

Skills for Health was established in April 2002 and licensed by the Department for Education and Skills (DfES) as the UK Sector Skills Council (SSC) for health in May of 2004.  It is part of the National Health Service, being hosted by a Trust, but with its own Board and Management.

Funded through the four UK health departments, Sector Skills Development Agency, the Education Regulatory Bodies and the sector, Skills for Health's aim is to help the whole sector develop solutions that deliver a skilled and flexible UK workforce in order to improve health and healthcare.
