Lifelong Learning UK

Lifelong Learning UK is the independent employer-led sector skills council responsible for the professional development of staff working in the UK lifelong learning sector. It covers:

• Community Learning & Development: community-based adult learning; community development; community education; development education; family learning; working with parents; youth work; and community learning and development in Scotland
• Further Education: general FE; tertiary and sixth form colleges; independent specialist colleges; Northern Ireland regional colleges; Scotland's colleges; and post-16 learning provision in Wales
• Higher Education: universities; university colleges; and colleges of Higher Education
• Libraries, Archives and Information Services: publicly financed libraries, archives and information services including those in universities, colleges and NHS trusts
• Work-Based Learning: national training providers; specialist training providers; and other private sector training organisations
