National Training Programmes
Skills Development Scotland works with private learning providers and colleges to deliver national training programmes (NTPs), ensuring people across Scotland can access funded training opportunities.
Becoming a national training programmes provider is a great way to help support people of all ages to fulfil their learning potential. To help put everything in place to deliver first class training, Skills Development Scotland learning providers are each given an annual budget to roll out NTPs.
NTPs are delivered under the following schemes:

National learning opportunities database (NLOD)
It is a contractual requirement for national training programmes providers to register their information on the national learning opportunities database (NLOD).
If you have not yet registered, please take a few minutes to fill out the NLOD online registration section.
If you are at all unsure whether your organisation is already registered or not, please just call up on 0141 285 6100 to find out.
Once registered, learning providers upload their information to the NLOD using PROMT, a user-friendly tool which allows learning providers to easily add and update their course information.
To find out more and to download the software, please go to the PROMT section.
You can find out which learning providers currently have NTPS available in your area by viewing an interactive map of NTPs currently listed on the NLOD.
Contracting for National Training Programmes for 2012/13
Proposals are invited annually for the majority of business, with budget retained for ad hoc additional requirements in the financial year.
Skills Development Scotland (SDS) has already allocated NTP contracts for 2012/13. If you are interested in applying for a contact for a future contract with SDS we have adopted an electronic Dynamic Purchasing System (DPS) that is best practice for procurement and this will be open again from May 2012.
This system will be used to contract for National Training Programmes (NTPs)
If you currently provide National Training Programmes (NTPs) you are required to comply with legal and operational requirements as well as health and safety responsibilities.
