Pledge to Learners
learndirect scotland is helping to create, support and sustain a lifelong learning network where learning providers will:
- Offer the time, pace and style of learning that most closely meets learners' needs
- Give clear information that helps learners make the best personal choices about learning programmes and maintain control of their learning
- Provide learning materials that are relevant to learners' own personal and work interests and actively involve learners in practical examples, exercises and experience
- Enable learners to monitor their progress and record their achievements as they go, not just at the end of a complete programme
- Provide learners with access to the specialist support they need, when they need it
- Work with learners to develop the skills that help them learn and stay in learning
- Give learners the chance to relate their learning to their longer term ambitions
- Help learners to feel part of a wider learning community and put learners in touch with other people studying the same things
- Link learning to key areas of the learner's life such as work, family, citizenship and their own personal development
- Encourage learners to value learning and see it add value to their life
