Exam Results Helpline

Exams

The waiting for 165,000 young people in Scotland will be over on Thursday 5th August when the SQA examination results are delivered to homes up and down the country.

For some the waiting was over earlier on Wednesday 5th August after they opted to receive their results by electronic delivery via text and/ or email.

However, if students don't get the results they were hoping for, help is at hand in the form of a free call to the Skills Development Scotland Exam Results Helpline on 0808 100 8000.

The helpline will open on August 4th to offer information, advice and support to those young people who have signed up to receive their results by e-mail or text from the SQA that afternoon. Careers advisers have volunteered to staff the helpline and will be on hand to give callers the latest information.  Advice will be available on course vacancies at colleges and universities across the UK as well as information about university clearing, exam re-sits and alternative opportunities to further and higher education such as training opportunities and employment.

The Exam Results Helpline will be open from 2pm until 10pm on 4 August, 8am until 8pm on 5 and 6 August, and from 9am until 6pm weekdays and 9am until 5pm weekends until 28 August.

Skills Development Scotland's Chief Executive, Damien Yeates said that, "if people don't get the results they hope for, they shouldn't panic.  They should call the helpline and speak to our advisers who can give the information, advice and assistance that they need."
