Public Consultation on the Skills Development Scotland draft Gaelic Language Plan
Under the Gaelic Language (Scotland) Act 2005, Skills Development Scotland (SDS) is required to develop and implement a Gaelic Language Plan which sets out how we will support the use of Gaelic in the delivery of our core services.
From 14 November 2011 to 23 December 2011, we are inviting our partners, interested bodies and the wider community across Scotland to read and comment on our draft Gaelic Language Plan. Your feedback will help to ensure the plan is robust and will contribute to the plan's future development.
The draft plan documents a three year development and implementation programme from 2012 to 2015. It seeks to place our contribution in the context of dynamic and developing SDS services and set out how we will enable the use of Gaelic within the operation of our relevant functions. It outlines a range of positive partnership activities in which we are engaged, details achievements to date and further specific action plan elements to be taken forward in the first and subsequent years of the plan.
In preparing the plan, we have ensured that our staff have been fully informed of the development process and have been able to contribute to many of the actions we are already taking.
Please take the opportunity to give your feedback via our online survey on the Skills Development Scotland website by 23 December 2011
