My World of Work

My World of Work is Skills Development Scotland's new web service offering users lots of valuable information and tools to help them win that job and develop their career.

It is part of our wider ambition to provide a more integrated Careers, Information Advice and Guidance (CIAG) approach offering customers a mix and balance of services, involving face-to-face, online and through our contact centre.

My World of Work offers customers the opportunity to create and update their CV using the My CV tool. They can discover their skills and strengths and what careers may be right for them with the My Strengths tool, helping them build on their profile. My World of Work also incorporates a Job search tool with live vacancies available from the Jobcentre Plus database, and a careers A-Z which displays useful information about their desired career.

Users can find out about available training and learning opportunities via our course choices tool, which shows information from the national learning opportunities database (NLOD). Therefore this is the perfect time to make sure all your course information is up-to-date, via PROMT, and available on the NLOD for maximum exposure to learners. Please note you are visiting the beta version of My World of Work. This means that we're still working on the site, so some of the pages and functions may change. Over the coming months we'll be adding more content, more features and refining what's already there in line with the feedback we get from you, the user.
