New PDA for Workplace Adult Literacy
Skills Minister Keith Brown recently congratulated the first 4 learners to complete the new PDA Developing Literacies Learning Programmes for the Workplace qualification.
This award at SCQF Level 7 is ideal for anyone engaged in delivering literacy learning in the workplace. It covers approaching employers and marketing as well as policy and devising learning programmes.
ILA Scotland funding is available for adult literacy and numeracy courses offered in conjunction with an employer. This means sending staff on this course could be a great way for an ILA Registered Provider to move into workplace provision.
Keith Brown commented:
"Literacy and numeracy skills underpin many of the tasks we need to carry out in our workplaces, whether it's about completing forms and reports, understanding health and safety notices, or calculating accounts.
"Many employers in Scotland work with learning providers to offer skills development opportunities to their employees. However, many more employers do not recognise the importance of supporting their workers to develop these skills and the benefits it can bring to their business."
If you are interested in offering this qualification, please contact SQA for further details.
You can also contact them about becoming an SQA Centre. This is one of the quality standards for becoming an ILA Scotland Provider.
