New Courses to Help Business Efficiency

Business Upward GraphBusiness Improvement Techniques (BIT) is a work based competency qualification from SQA that improves business performance by helping companies to reduce their waste and costs, improve their productivity and ultimately increase their competitiveness.

The main objective of the awards is to improve business performance, with a central theme throughout of boosting business activity by continuous improvement. The qualification is delivered as a National Progression Award and at SVQ levels 2,3 and 4 - there is therefore a relevant qualification for all those involved in business improvement within an organisation.

The SVQs include Lean Management and Six Sigma techniques.  Learners can choose either the Quality Improvement or Process Improvement pathway, depending on their job role. 

The Scottish Government will provide up to 50 individuals in the manufacturing and engineering sectors with funding for Business Improvement Techniques support as part of their ScotAction strategy.
