Funding for in-house training with Flexibile Training Opportunities

The Flexible Training Opportunities scheme has been extended till June 2012. If you provide training for small to medium sized enterprises, both your business and the companies you work with could benefit.

Launched by Skills Development Scotland (SDS), the scheme aims to help small businesses become more resilient and to boost productivity and success. Businesses with up to 150 employees can apply for up to £5,000 towards training costs. Funding is available for up to 10 employees per business and the money is not a loan so there's no need to pay it back. SDS will refund up to 50% of each episode of employee training up to a maximum of £500 per employee.

It effectively means your customers can double their training investment. Or it might help them invest in training when they thought it wasn't possible. The application process for businesses is simple and the rewards can really make a difference. The link below has all the information businesses need to make their application and they can call 0800 783 6000 if they have any queries.

Please note too that businesses looking for training opportunities to use this funding on will be directed by SDS staff to the NLOD course search. You can make sure they find your training opportunities by adding them with the PROMT tool. For help with this, click on the the links below or call Information Services on 0141 285 6100.
